 Heretaunga Players’ first show for 2014 was a children’s production especially written for the Players. Since this was the first time the play was ever performed it was a world premiere!

Plot Summary: The Magician and the Fisherman is a play about Magic, Belief, & Lies. Graeme says his play has elements of Cinderella mixed with Rumpelstiltskin! It revolves around the life of a poorly-treated orphan girl named Silvia who is forced to make ball gowns overnight for the town’s rather demanding Mayoress and her entourage. When she gets help from the Magician and the Fisherman who live in a mystical distant realm, the truth about their banishment slowly unfolds and Silvia finds herself in the middle of an epic struggle for justice and redemption.

Venue: The Studio, Ward Street, Upper Hutt.
